    Pros +

    • Staff very professional. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location was perfect.
    • Very clean and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. And it was cool that they planned one of the mornings I got a special tatami private room
    • I enjoyed the location, nestled beside Sumida Park and comfortably away (but not too far) from the crowds of Sensoji, Nakamise, and Kaminarimon. Short walk to Kappabashi Street. There was a welcoming homely vibe, especially since the area was more residential. Staff were very helpful and organising luggage delivery services to the airport / next location was easy. Loads of small gestures such as treats to celebrate the new year and hand warmers for the cold days/nights. It was a clean and comfortable room with daily room service. Many thanks to the housekeeping staff who worked around our clutter! Room sizes are small but as per Tokyo standard. We had breakfast included with my room and we worked through all the options through our stay. Safe to say all the options were delicious. Regardless, there are many food options nearby, as well as great specialty coffee places. However, for those seeking day trips out of Tokyo, the location may be less ideal as additional transport time between Asakusa to major train stations will add on the transit time.

    Cons -

    • Our room was dusty. The ac blows directly at your head while you sleep and there was dust on the ac grill. There was ambulance noise and motorcycle noise from the street. The breakfast was not filling. Very disappointing stay.
    • The dinner and breakfast buffet was average. We decided to have dinner and breakfast next door at the Kyoto Century hotel where there was much more of a variety of foods.
    • Breakfast quality not great, room overpriced

Nice staff, easy check in, good location

Breakfast quality not great, room overpriced

The location is amazing! The areas you can go explore around the hotel is awesome! The breakfast in the morning was always so good!

The space in the double full room was a bit limited, getting extra space is worth it. I was super worried about damaging the tatami mats but that might be more of a me issue.

The Japanese-style room was amazing with a beautiful view and we also really enjoyed the open-air bath ! The service was really great with really kind and attentive staff ! I greatly recommend !

Good location, free coffee in the lobby, room was clean.

The room was rather disappointing. Very cramped, no space to even put out your luggage. Windows were all frosted so you couldn’t see out. There is a light in the room that is on a motion sensor and cannot be disabled, so whenever someone gets up it comes on and wakes up anyone else in the room. Bed was not a true futon pad which can still be comfortable on a floor, but an extra firm mattress with no box spring, directly on the floor. It was the most uncomfortably rigid sleeping area i have ever used.

Everything, especially the bath! And room service is great to have. Lobby was beautiful.

    Nothing. Loved it all

Close to a couple of train stations and not far walking distance to food areas, maybe a couple of blocks. Also, the Senso-ji temple is walking distance. I also like that it was authentic Japanese ryokan and offered a very good traditional Japanese breakfast. Very quiet!

    Very clean and good location.

    Room were very tiny

    2AdielPosted on: 11-7-2025

The room was very small, too small for hosting a couple. There was not enough space for opening luggage. The bed was stuck to the wall, such that one of us was not able to get off bed without distracting the other. The TV was positioned in a way that made it impossible to use it.

Incredible stay! Traveled with our 1 year old, tatami floors were perfect. Onsen was wonderful everyday! Great staff and location. Highly recommend.

    10BrianPosted on: 10-24-2025

A very comfortable hotel with excellent staff and good outdoor tub.

No complaints; we did find it a bit difficult to walk on the outdoor balcony and outdoor tub areas to the pebbles on the flooring.

    7Chryblsm33Posted on: 10-24-2025

Location is amazing, balcony and private bath are relaxing, staff were kind and helpful.

Wall paper was peeling and breakfast wasn't great. Expected better quality for how expensive it was.

    10KyokoPosted on: 9-11-2025

I loved the low beds on tatami which were more comfortable than futon but still made me feel as though I were in Japan. Exceptional housekeeping and the bath salts were refilled daily! Tub was very comfortable and we used it nightly- so lovely to soak away the aches from all our walking!

    Nothing could be improved!

    7ANINDYAPosted on: 9-9-2025

The room though small, had all amenities. The bathroom was definitely the highlight and quite big.

It was quite a walk away from the subway station and we felt it was quite expensive for the size of the room.

    10TomiokaPosted on: 8-31-2025

We stayed only one night and really enjoyed the view and tub. The room has wonderful shoji shades. Everything was great. Staff was friendly and professional

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel or room

    10MARIA-CRISTINAPosted on: 8-8-2025

We had a wonderful stay at this ryokan! Our room was peaceful and quiet, with an incredible view of the Tokyo Skytree from the lovely balcony. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were fantastic—they even took our separately delivered bags to our room before we arrived. The complimentary tea in the lobby was excellent, and every detail of our stay was just amazing.

Beautiful ambiance traditional meets modern style. Excellent food welcoming staff. Very close to fun activities.

The TV was blocking a beautiful cherry blossom mural in the room
